A sleek throwback to 80's sci-fi, Midnight Special is a smart, subtle thriller that doubles as an allegory for raising children. It is gorgeously shot and led by some beautiful and truly touching performances.

0-3: Films that simply aren't worth anyone's time.
4-6: Films that are solid but unremarkable in any way. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend these films, but I wouldn't try and dissuade anyone from seeing them.
7-10: Films I actively endorse and recommend whenever possible.
